When I thought about the yearbook thing, it was half in jest, all in fun. It still is. Several Mindsayers have left snide comments, about it boiling down to a popularity contest, just like high school. Part of it is. The people who have blogs that others frequently read, are going to be nominated. The same is true of life. If you are a person that knows many people, you will know more and more people. You will hear about things that people who know nobody may not hear of. You essentially network yourself through the people that you know. I've made an effort to prevent the same people from being nominated over and over. Generally if you are well known on here it is because you want to be. You make the effort to comment and post frequently. You may talk to Mindsayers on Yahoo or Aim. Or on the telephone. You may have met some of them.

What it boils down to is that it's all in fun. It's just for a laugh, for something to do. I can do without sarcastic remarks, subtle jabs, and outright rudeness. If you're that miserable, you need not comment.

That being said!

A few people have pointed out that Yearbook is not all-inclusive as far as the nominations go, which is sadly, very true. So the Yearbook Staff will be adding a second linked journal, Yearbook Signatures. In this everyone can participate. Anyone who wishes to may sumbit a photo(an avatar of themselves or an avatar they have previously used) and anything they wish to say-roughly 45 words or less. You can email these here or here
